Hello World.

Mnemomap is online. We proudly present you a new aproach of searching. We’re alpha and that’s because we want your feedback, discussion and discourse for inventing the best interface for working creative with the net-sources. And, we’ve just begun developing mnemo. A lot of features, bugfixes and visions are raring to go.

    some quick freedback

    - no tags/synonyms/translations in list should be displayed with gray instead of blue box an “no Tags” instead of “tags” - verwirrend
    - I really miss the URL-String in the search results. Its very important to consider the quality of the URL (but this seems to be hard because of the yahoo-api, isnt it)
    - you have got character-encodig-problems
    - once i deleted a word from the trail-list it doesnt (always) go back there when i research it. - verwirrend - “”pfadfinder” doesnt go back, “hund” does)
    - I dont understand this trail. when I do a new search it should not be added but replace the trail. Otherwise the results are different…
Even if I delete all former querys from the trails the search still has results of it… I had to delet all and research…
    - trail can be longer than it is… :)
    - x and > klickarea for the chunks is pretty small. the good thing: this way i learned to turn of a word by klicking - nice but hidden feature

Can you do better than Google? Or different? Tim Bruysten left stealth mode and annouced alpha to a new aproach of searching - Mnemomap: In an interactive way we help the user to refine search queries by providing alternative or additional search param…

    Hello everyone,

I must say, the idea is quiet interessting and even in alpha it is working well! The Flash, the Ajax Job, it all looks really nice and you directly want to use it! I think it’s a good approach to new searches in the web! The only thing I was missing while surfing the whole site was a “back home” or “back to search” Button.

  5. Jens Says:

Well, vowe writes, that Tim left stealth mode ….. but thats only partially true. Looking for some minutes now where to find the functionality, I did not get any clue …… :-( …… so its still in stealth mode for people not familiar with your site. Oh well ….

Simply great work. I’m guessing it’s still beta and needs a lot of tweaking but I basically love the concept. Hope it becomes double byte enabled for us Japanese to use it. Good luck with your ongoing work! BTW, I’ve trackbacked your website to introduce this new search solution.

  7. Cem Basman Says:

Jens, “Cem” writes at “vowe”’s place … ;)

  8. Cem Basman Says:

Typo! I correct my website URL: http://basman.wordpress.com

  9. Jens Says:

Sorry, Cem, should have been more precise or at least say vowe.net ….

Just a note- I stumbled across this site last nite and noticed that it doesn’t seem to work on Safari for mac. Where the Flash would normally be, it just says ‘error’.
Other than that I like what I’ve seen so far, but haven’t had a chance to get real familiar with it yet.

    cheers

i’m using safari for developing mnemo. so, there must be an other reason. maybe your flashplayer is out of date? but we’re working on a wider compatibility.
